This is a vigorous blanch leek to grow, ensure that it is drawn up in the greenhouse in the early stages of growth to get the length. To achieve their ultimate size they will require grow lights.
Growing InfoÂ
Start the grass under lights at 65f and keep the lights on 12 hours a day right until you plant them out in a tunnel which should be around early May. Blanch leek grass is very easy to root, they root in a few days at a temperature of 18c. (65f)
Hints and Tips
Exhibition Long Blanch leeks require a tunnel or other protection to grow to a large size. They will reward you for your attention to detail. We do an excellent booklet on how to grow them correctly here.
