Soon our new Fosters Seeds hardcopy catalogue will be ready with some new varieties. Please be aware we are now known as Fosters Seeds not Exhibition Seeds same company different name, we felt that Exhibition Seeds only represented just vegetable seeds for exhibition varieties (Show Vegetables) but many of our variety’s are for kitchen use.
We supply the original Kelsae Onion Seeds this variety is particularly good for the large dressed onion classes. Our own onion Ailsae Big Onion Seeds has won many classes for large dressed onions, it is also outstanding to grow for the giants given the right culture.
In the new catalogue, we have some of the best strains of brassicas, we have a very good selection of Cabbages we will have two new round autumn cabbages for 2025. additionally Brussels Sprouts Brodie F1 thats great for Christmas harvest. Brussels Sprouts Dagan F1 for late winter harvest, we have a new variety for 2025. . For the small onions we think that onion Toughball F1 is still the one to beat, it has great skin quality. Most of the vegetable seed we offer in our seed store is graded top size seed.
We will have some nice Peter Clark Pendle Improved Long Blanch Leek grass by early November , probably the best stock available.
I continue to try and breed new Pot Leeks similar to the Yorkshire Giant, Yorkshire Green, Yorkshire Blue and Amelia. Hopefully I may have a new Pot Leek in 2025 but for now we don’t have any Pots Leek Grass for sale this year. You may be interested in my booklet on growing Pot and Blanch Leeks
