Carrot (Gladius) F1 – Nantes Type
We sent quite a few packets of this variety for trial in 2022, the response has been very good. Shown with great success by Ian Simpson in Scotland.
One you must grow.
Growing Info Sow March or April. Plant on good fertile land 40 cm all ways, and apply a general fertiliser at 75 grams SQ meter.
To get quality carrots for exhibition you must sow in raised beds filled with excellent quality John Innes No 2 soil. Kuroda Nantes Type carrots grow well under cover where they are warmer.
The best growers often grow them along the edge of their leek beds under cover.
You can also use large 30-litre pots filled with John Innes No 2 In all cases you will have beautiful carrots for eating and showing.
Hints and Tips Protect or spray against Carrot Root Fly
Quantity  200 seeds, usually more.
